Choose your skirt according to your morphology

Choose your skirt according to your morphology

Ranking among the timeless of the wardrobe, the skirt is the symbol of femininity par excellence. Long, short, fringed, slit, patterned, pleated or ruffled, it can be worn in any season. In addition to highlighting the figure for a slender and elegant look, it also serves to conceal a few problem areas in style. This is why it is essential to choose your skirt according to your morphology.

Identify its morphology

Following the latest fashion trends is good, but dressing more harmoniously is even better. Before moving on to choosing the best skirt that will delight your silhouette, it is important to take the time to determine your body type. If some people are lucky enough to wear everything, others still need to move towards pieces of clothing with a well-defined cut and length. In the world of fashion, morphology is an essential criterion that guides us in the choice of our pieces of clothing. Coming from the combination of the two Latin words "morphé" which means form and "logos" which refers to the study or the discourse, the term morphology can therefore be defined as the study of the structure of a living being and its its outward form. It focuses mainly on the bones and the general "structure" of your body. Contrary to popular belief, the study of form does not focus on weight gain or a slimming diet. Weight variations do not change your silhouette in any way.

Why know your morphology?

As surprising as it may be, knowing its morphologyin as much detail as possible is particularly advantageous. This gives you a better overview of the assets to be highlighted and, of course, of the "small" unsightly flaws to be concealed in a stylish and intelligent way. You will no doubt have understood that by knowing your morphology, you avoid style errors. You will thus succeed in making the best combinations of clothes, in order to draw attention to a well-defined part of your body, and not focus on a much less advantageous area. When buying your clothes, you will easily orient yourself towards the pieces adapted to the structure of your silhouette. Pieces of clothing that don't "fit" you and that settle in the back of a closet are now just a thing of the past.

How to know your morphology?

To know your morphology, you must stand in front of your mirror. The idea will be to identify the shape as well as the structure of the different parts of your body. To get a more detailed look, it would be better to dress only in underwear, or failing that, in tight-fitting clothes, very close to the body. Even if you are not particularly comfortable with the image you project on your mirror, know that an analysis of the actual structure of your bodywill help you to dress as according to your morphology in a more harmonious way. The principle wants you to be as honest as possible with yourself. In addition to doing you the greatest good, you will get a much more objective estimate. Then compare the width of your shoulders to that of your waist and your hips. If you still want to carry out a more precise analysis, do not hesitate to take your measurements directly. Measure your shoulder circumference, from the base of the neck to the shoulder joint. For the chest circumference, measure around your bust, passing under the armpits and at the level of the tip of the breasts. The waist circumference is measured on the other hand on the most hollow part. The hip circumference refers to the widest part of the pelvis, especially at the level of your crotch.

Different body types

The comparison of the different measurements taken beforehand indicates your morphology. Hips much wider than the shoulders with a very little marked waist and in line with the hips mean that you have a morphology in A, pear or pyramid. In the opposite case, i.e. with a narrow pelvis and developed shoulders, it is more of a V or diamond shape. Women who present with shoulders that are in line with the hips and the waist are in H. On the other hand, if the width of your shoulders is identical to that of your hips, but that you have a marked waist, your silhouette is in X. For those who have fairly generous and luscious curves, it is rather the 8-shaped body shape. The 0-shaped body shape is simply characterized by a round waist and beautiful curves , narrow shoulders, a rather generous chest, a very small waist, fairly wide hips and plump buttocks.
